Remind your Google+ stream to watch TWiT.
TWiT fans, this one is for you! Here we have a recipe to post a "Watch TWiT live" reminder (15 minutes prior to the show) to your public Google+ stream. First you will need to activate both the calendar and your gmail channels for ifttt. Next, you will need to ensure that the TWiT show schedule has been entered into your Google Calendar. Visit http://calendars.google.com (and make certain you are logged into your Google account) > click "calendar settings" (upper right hand corner) > click "calendars" > halfway down the page on the right, click "browse interesting calendars" > on the right, click "add by url" and enter "http://twit.tv/ics" and "add to calendar" > Return to your calendar and under "other calendars" make certain "twit.tv/ics" is selected > select the next "this WEEK in TECH" calendar event (on Sunday), select "copy to my calendar" and select REPEAT, WEEKLY, DONE. In step one below, the recipe calls for a calendar trigger which searches for keywords such as "this WEEK in TECH." In step two below, from your Gmail account, you will send an email to your *Google+ email address* that you can post to. To learn how to discover this email address, visit Mike Elgan's article at http://j3n.us/oojnSi. (This same procedure can be done for all TWiT shows by changing the trigger and what you copy over to your calendar. When you change the trigger, make certain the word(s) are exact as what is in the calendar event title.)
