If you've found this article, chances are you're looking to tap into the power of automation with two workflow staples: Notion and Outlook.
Notion, a versatile visual workspace, allows us to organize thoughts, tasks, and projects. Outlook, on the other hand, is a trusted platform for professional communication. Both of these apps are a great addition to your productivity toolbox.
But what if we could connect these two? For instance, imagine creating a Notion page directly from an Outlook email. This is where IFTTT comes into play. This Applet below will automatically create a page in Notion when you send IFTTT (trigger@applet.ifttt.com) any email.
You can start with the Applet above or you can build your own. In this guide, we'll walk you through the process of creating a Notion page from an Outlook email using IFTTT. Don't worry—setting up an automation with IFTTT takes only a couple of minutes and requires no technical background.
Understanding Outlook and Notion
Although they serve very different purposes, connecting the two applications can be very beneficial to your workflow. Think of all the countless hours spent manually checking email, sorting through important information, and transferring by hand to your project management system.
Outlook is a widely used email service developed by Microsoft. It is a core component of Microsoft Office and offers email management, calendar scheduling, task tracking, and contact organization. Many professionals rely on Outlook for efficient communication with their teams and clients.
Notion is an all-in-one workspace designed to help users manage tasks, notes, databases, and projects. It provides a flexible and customizable platform for organizing information, making it a popular choice among individuals and teams. With versatile Kanban boards and other templates, you can find a format that fits your flow.

What is IFTTT?
IFTTT, available as both a free web-based service and mobile app, works by creating connections between over 1000 popular apps and services, allowing them to work together seamlessly.
The basic idea behind IFTTT is to create Applets or sets of instructions that trigger when certain conditions are met. This can be turning on the lights automatically when you enter your house or in the case of Notion and Outlook, adding pages to a Notion database based on specific emails.
