Structural fitters work in manufacturing, where they produce architectural and building materials, in machinery manufacturing and in shipyards. The work of a structural fitter requires both physical and mental effort, regardless of the industry and may require an apprenticeship, in which you learn one or more of the specific skills of the trade.
