Control your world with widgets
Widgets are shortcuts that enable you to run certain Applets with the touch of a button on your iOS or Android device. It’s almost like building your own mini-apps that do exactly what you want them to do, quickly!
There are three services that can create widgets. In order to use them, you need to have the IFTTT app on your phone.
The Camera widget connects your phone’s camera to IFTTT and allows you to run Applets when you take photos. When you take a picture through the widget, the Applet it’s connected to will determine the next step: send to a social site, back up to the cloud, share with team members — whatever you'd like.
The Note widget allows you to write quick notes on-the-go and run Applets that send them to email, your calendar, Twitter, and more. It’s a simple way to add content to a notebook, to-do list, calendar, or even a Spotify playlist.
The Button widget acts as a smart button for your phone — connect it to other services with Applets and you’re always carrying around a remote control. Remember, unlike Applets that automatically run in the background, widget Applets run when you tell them to. Use the Button widget to toggle your lights, log your location, or even trigger a phone call.
After you turn on a widget Applet, you can add it as a icon in your Today screen on iOS, or your homescreen on iOS or Android. You can check out the step-by-step instructions in our Help center. Those icons will be ready to do your bidding — give them a tap and the Applet will run!
